The Horror Art of Bruce Timm (Gallery, Festival of Dread Special, NSFW)

Welcome back to the Festival of Dread, The Splintering’s month-long celebration of all things creepy and crawly.

Renowned artist and animator Bruce Timm is primarily known for his iconic takes on the DC animated universe, starting with Batman the Animated Series. However, Tim’s trademark style isn’t limited to the world of superheroics. Over the years, he’s crafted a remarkable number of pieces inspired by classic horror characters, as well.

Since tracking down all of these sketches, commissions, covers, etc. can be a bit of a chore, we thought we’d save you a bit of time by creating a gallery of some of Timm’s best horror-inspired artwork.

Enjoy!

HI- Bruce’s work is always a pleasure to see – I’ve loved sharing illustrations in some of the same issues of Richard Klemensen’s Little Shoppe Of Horrors mag all these years – however, the Reptile art, also from an ish of LSOH,was by Brit artist Adrian Salmon.
