“Tetris The Absolute: The Grand Master 2 Plus” Joins the Arcade Archives on PS4, Nintendo Switch

The most unnecessarily longwinded title for a game about stacking blocks ever.

Publisher Hamster has announced that Tetris The Absolute: The Grand Master 2 Plus is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released by Arika in 2000 for arcades, the convolutedly titled Tetris TATGM2+ (ick) is an updated revision of the classic block-stacking puzzle game, this time with challenging new modes modes. In “TGM+”, where Tetriminos (Tetris pieces) rise up from the bottom and in “T.A.DEATH”, Tetriminos fall at a high speed right from the start (I feel like earlier versions of Tetris had something like this).

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Tetris The Absolute: The Grand Master 2 Plus is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
