“Taito Milestones 2” Coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023
Publisher ININ Games has announced that the Taito Milestones 2 collection is coming soon to Nintendo Switch. Taito Milestones 2 includes ten classic arcade games from the 80s and 90s.
Here’s the official breakdown of Taito Milestones 2 from ININ Games, followed by the list of games included (so far):

After fans across the globe enjoyed the addictive titles of last year’s release, TAITO Milestones, ININ is proud to publish its highly requested follow-up. The collection includes 10 classic Taito arcade games from the 1980’s to early 90’s, such as “Metal Black”, “Darius II”, and “The NewZealand Story”.Relive the spirit of these action-packed classics, and reignite the flame of TAITO’s nostalgic gems in this thrilling new compilation, exclusively for Nintendo Switch, physical and digital.

Kiki Kaikai (1986)
Travel back in time to Feudal Japan in Kiki KaiKai, the precursor of the universally beloved Pocky & Rocky! Play as Sayo-chan, a Shinto shrine maiden, who, after being visited by the Seven Gods of Fortune, must fight against Yokai to save the kidnapped gods. Attack evil forces by throwing special scrolls in eight different directions, upgrade your power by picking up special loot from enemies and find special items that improve your attack!
Darius II (3 Screen Arcade Version, 1989)
The mysterious, intelligent creature Belser that once attacked the planet Darius have begun an attack on the solar system, and the Silver Hawk pilots must go to the rescue. Travel through the stars, across planets, and beyond in this beloved action-arcade shooter! This is the very first port of the 3 Screen Arcade Edition of Darius II!
Gun Frontier (1990)
Enjoy space Westerns with sci-fi elements? TAITO’s 1990 release, Gun Frontier, is the perfect blood-pumping action vertical-scrolling shooter for the genre! In the near future, humankind has managed to colonize planets outside of our solar system. Set on the planet Gloria, this shooter follows the pilots of the aircraft, Desperado, as they confront the space pirates, Wild Lizard. Don’t miss out on the legendary soundtrack and the challenging, gun-themed bosses!
Ben Bero Beh (1984)
A fire broke out! Play as superhero Dami-chan to extinguish the flames in the apartment to rescue your girlfriend, Nao-chan! Jump over collapsing floors and gas explosions, as various foes pop up to create even more chaos. This title is jam-packed with wacky and unique characters that appear in later games– will you be able to recognize them all?
The Legend of Kage (1985)
Taking place in Japan at the end of Edo period, play as the Iga Ninja Kage in his battle against Yukikusa Yoshiro and his demonic army to rescue the captured Princess Kiri. Armed with shurikens and a shortsword, jump and run through 5 stages and defeat enemies. Backed with an energetic and unforgettable soundtrack, journey through forests, castle walls, and mansions in this action-adventure to save the day!
Liquid Kids (Mizubaku Adventure, 1990)
Flying in on a giant pelican, play as the young hero Hippopo and fight to protect the peaceful Hippo country, Woody Lake, from the evil hands of Fire Satan. Armed with water bombs, search for Hippopo’s missing girlfriend Tama-sun and save other friends along the way! Complete with colorful graphics, adorable characters, and loads of action, this platformer promises an enjoyable time.
Solitary Fighter (1991)
In the early 1950s, fighters from all over the United States compete in underground tournaments against each other for prizes, money, and the honor of being the “Strongest.” Can the young fighter Bud take the No. 1 spot against all odds? In this updated version of “Violence Fight” choose from 6 playable characters instead of the original 4 and enjoy new features and gimmicks.
Dinorex (1992)
Set in a world where humans and dinosaurs coexist, this fighting game tells the story of the Amazons. In prehistoric South America, young men pit their tamed dinosaurs against each other in order to win the title of King “Dinorex”, rule the world and marry the very sought-after Queen of Amazonia. In this title, play as a dino-tamer in one-on-one fights with special moves and combos!
Metal Black (1991)
Earth is on the verge of collapse due to invading alien forces, and this side-scrolling shooter sees you piloting the Black Fly fighter ship to take the battle to your enemies! Compete for the Newalone energy source with the invaders and defeat them with powerful laser weapons. Follow the story of rogue pilot, John Ford as you fight an alien race, the Nemesis, to save humanity.
Similar to the first collection – that’s nine games, with the tenth likely to be announced at a later date. Also similar to the first volume, none of the titles are from the Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble or Arkanoid series… at least not yet.
Prior to its wide release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop, the physical edition of Taito Milestones 2 will be available for pre-order at the ININ Games website here.
