Taito’s “MEGABLAST” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch via the Arcade Archives
Publisher Hamster has announced that MEGABLAST is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1989, this is the first time that MEGABLAST has been commercially available on a home console.
Set at the end of the 21st century, MEGABLAST is a horizontally scrolling space shooter akin to Gradius or R-Type. 1 or 2 players take flight in the highly advanced“Megablast” space fighter to rescue Earth’s women who have been kidnapped and taken to the “dark nebula planet Zancs.” Alien cads! What bizarre and perverse horrors are they inflicting upon our fair ladies?!
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.
Arcade Archives MEGABLAST is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
