Artist Kelsey Shannon “Scribbles” His Way Onto Fund My Comic
Earlier this week, prolific independent comic book artist Kelsey Shannon launched a crowdfunding campaign for Scribbles, a girthy, 200-page sketchbook featuring “a decade of comic book layouts and sketches collected for the process junkie in you.”
The project is well beyond fully funded, having raised more than $13 thousand at the time of this writing, which puts it in the running to be the most successful campaign to date via the Fund My Comic website.
Here’s the official pitch taken from the Scribbles campaign page on Fund My Comic:
Look inside one of the most creatively fertile brains in the field of comics and illustration!
200 pages of what you need! A raw behind the scenes journey through the process of making comics from one of the best!
For nearly 30 years Kelsey has been dazzling readers with crisp, exciting storytelling and character design to rival the best the artform has to offer, and the proof is in this book. Collecting comic book layouts and sketches from the comics you love.
Backers can get a copy of Scribbles for $30, or add a t-shirt for an extra $25. All original art tiers are already sold out, unless more are added later. It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $10 for those in the United States.
