Publisher Microids has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Flashback 2, this time revealing a return to the artificial jungle environment of Titan.

This new installment into the Flashback series is a thirty-years-later sequel to Conrad Hart’s first sci-fi adventure. Flashback 2 is being developed in collaboration with members of the original creative team, and will offer a similar blend of puzzle and action as the first game.

In the 22nd century, the United Worlds extends throughout the Solar System, but this tranquillity is threatened by the Morph invasion led by the fearsome General Lazarus. In search of his lifelong friend Ian, Conrad B. Hart dives once again into a breath taking adventure full of twists and turns and revelations with the help of his few allies, including A.I.S.H.A., his iconic AI-powered weapon!

Game features:

• Immerse yourself in a vibrant sci-fi/cyberpunk universe and explore various environments (New Tokyo, New Washington, the Jungle…)
• Use A.I.S.H.A., a lethal adaptive weapon enhanced with combat AI.
• A gripping, fluid and intricate platform shooter.
• A 3D environment for even deeper immersion.
• Designed and developed by the creator of the original, Paul Cuisset.

The original Flashback (aka: Flashback: the Quest for Identity in the US) was released for a number of platforms in the mid 90s, from the SNES and SEGA Genesis to the 3DO and Atari Jaguar. The game rotoscoped animations similar to Another World (aka Out of This World), and required precise movements and meticulous planning to successfully traverse the 2D world.

Flashback 2 is planned for release digitally on 16 November 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbone, SeXbox, Nintendo Switch and PC, with a physical version to follow on 5 December.
