It’s Drake Season

Independent comic book creator and Alazmat Comics founder Alberto Martinez recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Beast Citizen Roadwarrior Drake, a girthy 150-page action/satire graphic novel.

Written by and illustrated by Martinez, Beast Citizen Roadwarrior Drake is the follow-up to Street Champion Roadwarrior Drake which was successfully crowdfunded in 2020 (holy smokes, I can’t believe it was that long ago).

So what happens in this graphic novel?

The beast citizen enters politics? Skullkill needs a leader after a war against the warlords of Romerum, the drug manufactured by The Krimson from the first book, ravishes the town. The people cheer on their beast warrior, but others are leary about being led by the creature. Drake now becomes a congressman running for Skullkill’s highest power, but what he discovers about humans makes him want to fight for them less.

New Warlords Take the Fight against the Beast Citizen!

An invading warlord, Tako the Narc, one of Mexico’s fiercest leaders, is given a pass by a mysterious handler to enter Skullkill and increase the crime rate, making a declawed Drake ineffective to stop him.

And behind every Tako the Narc, is his muse, Kuddle Bunny Becky. And those claws- you’ll have to get the book to see how vicious those claws are!

A New Creature Enters the War!

From the blood of Drake absorbed by Kofi. one of the Krimson’s more loyal warriors who was killed by Roadwarrior Drake in the first book, emerges a new, terrifying creature known as Massaker! Possessing some of Kofi’s memories, he recognizes Drake as his natural enemy. The winged monster goes on a violent killing spree, adding more doubt that Drake isn’t connected to it.

A slew of new characters, situations, and life altering events, complete with the witty banter and commentary by Drake, Beast Citizen Roadwarrior Drake promises to up the stakes while continuing the humor and action that made the first book fun.
