Taito’s “Strato Fighter” Joins the Arcade Archives on PS4, Nintendo Switch

Publisher Hamster has announced that Strato Fighter is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1991, this is the first time that Strato Fighter has been commercially available, both outside of Japan and on a home console.

Strato Fighter is set in the year 2135 AD, after Earth has been attacked by an unknown enemy. The Earth Military mobilizes Codename “RAIGA”, which sends two MB-OG fighters into the depths of the enemy colony. Players can use a variety of weapons and the game’s unique turn button to blast away at enemies from all sides, both vertically and horizontally.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Strato Fighter is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
