Adam Lawson’s Horror One-Shot “The Kill Journal: Complete Finch Dossier” Now on Indiegogo
“Dear journal, today I didn’t kill anyone, but maybe tomorrow will be better…”
On Thursday, independent comic book creator Adam Lawson launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Kill Journal: Complete Finch Dossier, a 28-page horror comic.
The project is already fully funded, having raised more than $3 thousand at the time of this writing.
Written by Lawson and Brian Christgau (Six-Gun Gorilla) and featuring illustrations by Maxi Dall’O (Jack Irons) and colors is by Mike Spicer (Murder Falcon), the Complete Finch Dossier is a stand-alone story set in the world of The Kill Journal.
Here’s the official pitch taken from The Kill Journal: Complete Finch Dossier Indiegogo campaign page:
ARE YOU A VICTIM OR A SURVIVOR?
This is the question every character trapped in a horror story must ask. Will they be slaughtered by a relentless evil, or will they get up off their ass and fight back? If you’re reading this, I think we both know which one you are.
The Complete Finch Dossier is a STAND ALONE, 28-page one-shot set in the frightening world of THE KILL JOURNAL. If you are new, this is a great place to jump in as you need no prior knowledge. You can also pick up the original GN at a screaming low price (catch the pun).
WHAT’S THE STORY
At its core, this is a story about trauma and how people deal with it. Some claim visions from God and others seek revenge in an attempt to gain control of a world that cannot be controlled.
Revenants (evil spirits back from the dead bent on revenge i.e. Slashers) walk the earth slaughtering the innocent, leaving a trail of broken survivors in their wake. A mad preacher named St. George is picking up those broken “pieces” and building an army to fight back.
This is the tale of the first survivor St. George recruits, Finch, and their hunt for Mr. Crispy. A boy who grew up fighting in dog pits like an animal. A boy with no other option than more violence. This is a father and son story about of a boy who lost his father and a father who lost his son.
Backers can get a copy of the Complete Finch Dossier for $20. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive a reprint edition of the original 128-page The Kill Journal, a patch, or a Complete Finch Dossier t-shirt.
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $8 for those in the United States.
Interested? The print run for the Complete Finch Dossier is limited to only 500 copies, so don’t dawdle. You can check out some sample artwork below or visit the full The Kill Journal: Complete Finch Dossier Indiegogo campaign page here.
