Alternaween 2023 Is Now Live
It’s about that time to get your Halloween plans in order…
Independent comic book creator and Alterna Comics founder Peter Simeti recently launched the company’s annual Halloween-themed fundraising campaign, Alternaween.
Backers who support the Alternaween campaign will be sent bundles of Alterna Comics to be given away as Halloween treats. The comics themselves come in four types of bundles of 25 randomized comics: all-ages, young adult, mature, and mixed, depending on the intended audience.
Here’s the full list of books that could be included with each bundle:
Titles included in the all ages bundle:
- The Actual Roger
- Baron Rat
- Gods and Gears
- King Cryptid
- Legends of Log
- Mighty Mascots
- Mr. Crypt
- Mr. Crypt and Baron Rat
- Mr. Crypt and Friends
Titles included in the young adult bundle:
- Downcast
- Eden
- Feast or Famine
- Horace H. Hoover
- It Came Out on a Wednesday
- T-Bird and Throttle
- Tinseltown
- Trespasser
- Unit 44
Titles included in the mature bundle:
- Blood Realm
- Can’t Kill Cade
- The Chair
- Red Koi
- Void Walker
- Wulf and Batsy
- The XII
There are a few stretch goals if the campaign meets certain thresholds, including a trading card, a tote bag, and an Alternaween bookmark.
Not sure if you’ll have enough trick-or-treaters to warrant a bulk purchase? You can always donate the books to libraries, children’s hospitals, or even drop a few in those “neighborhood library” stands which have popped up everywhere. In any case, your books are guaranteed to be in your hands by 27 October, plenty of time to be ready for All Hallow’s Eve.
