Sci-Fi Western Comic “The Recluse” Now Live On Indiegogo

I’d keep to myself too if my face looked like a dead cow.

On Tuesday, independent comic book creator Scott Kysh launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Recluse, a 16-ish page sci-fi western set in the “Ironverse” of Jack Irons: Steel Cowboy.

Written by Kysh and featuring illustrations by Roslynn Sommers and colors by Bea Fernandez, The Recluse tells the tale of “the battle over Prota and how it changed the world.”

Here’s the official pitch taken from The Recluse Indiegogo campaign page:

An unlikely hero with nothing to lose

Left for dead in a world on the verge of extinction after a nuclear war. The Recluse fights to wrestle control of the only remaining food source from the grip of a powerful corporation whose only goal is to grind every last ounce of profit from what’s left of humanity.

The first issue of The Recluse is a brief introduction and is projected to be about 16 pages in length. We currently have 8 pages completely finished down to colors and lettering. We have a modest goal to finish the remaining pages and print copies for backers and future campaigns.

Backers can get a digital version of The Recluse for $3, while physical copies start at $8. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:

  • Multiple copies of the book
  • Variant covers
  • Digital versions of both the Wrath and Jack Irons series

There are also bonus items for the first backers. It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $5 for those in the United States.
