Simian Grunt “El Krudo” Returns to Kickstarter for Issue 6 (Crowdfunding Spotlight)
Pulse-pounding primate pandemonium.
Independent comic book creator Manny Shape recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for El Krudo issue 6: Sink or Swim the latest 44-page installment in the sci-fi, alternate history series.
The project is already fully funded, having surpassed its $1200 funding goal at the time of this writing.
Written by Shape and featuring illustrations by Andres Ponce and colors by Nobi, El Krudo is the tale of a “USMC orangutan stuck behind enemy lines during the Vietnam War.”
Here’s the official pitch taken from the El Krudo Kickstarter campaign page:
EL KRUDO is an orangutan raised by the USMC who is dropped into the Vietnam War and gets stuck behind enemy lines. It’s like Project X meets Apocalypse Now (errr, Ape-ocalypse Now).
El Krudo lands in the Vietnam Highlands, an area controlled by the ruthless Viet Cong warlord, Major Deng. Their worlds collide in a weird and catastrophic way…
Backers can get a digital version of El Krudo issue 6 (along with every previous issue) for $8, while physical copies start at $12. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:
- An art print
- T-shirt
- A can coozie
- Swag bag
- Ape Fights aupplemental books
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $9 for those in the United States.
