Taito’s “Darius II” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch via the Arcade Archives

“Yes, the space fish one.”

Publisher Hamster has announced that Darius II is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1989, Darius II received ports to several platforms since. This arcade-perfect version for PS4 and Switch keeps the original, wide aspect ratio intact, which is three screens wide.

In Darius II, players pilot the powerful Silver Hawks spacecraft through a number of stages across the solar system: the sun, Mercury, Venus, the moon, the earth, Mars, and Jupiter (No Uranus?). As is the standard for the Darius series, you’ll battle against a horde of fish-like enemies and bosses along the way.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Darius II is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
