Video System’s Arcade Classic “Aero Fighters” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch
Publisher Hamster has announced that vertical scrolling shoot ‘em up Aero Fighters is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally developed by Video Systems and released in arcades by Tecmo in 1992, Aero Fighters was later ported to the Super NES in 1993. However, this is the first time that an arcade-perfect release of the game has been commercially available on a home console.
In Aero Fighters, players find a world overrun by an evil empire. You can select one of four flight teams from either Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom or Sweden (WTF?), and each team’s aircraft has its own upgradeable primary and special weapons.
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.
Arcade Archives Aero Fighters is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
