Retro Arcade Action Game “Mighty Guy” Now Available on PS4, Nintendo Switch
Before Mighty Final Fight, before Final Fight Guy, there was Mighty Guy.
Late last week, publisher Hamster released Mighty Guy on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of their digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in Japanese arcades by Nichibutsu in 1986, Mighty Guy is a top-down action game akin to Commando and Ikari Warriors. Players take control of the titular “mighty guy” who can punch, kick, and use his “psycho gun” to defeat the denizens of the evil supercomputer known as Zaxxon ZELDA, which is attempting to “genetically modify humanity and take over the world”, whatever that means.
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.
Arcade Archives Mighty Guy is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
