80s Arcade Shooter “Master of Weapon” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch
Become a true master of weapon… not grammar.
Publisher Hamster has announced that Master of Weapon is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in Japanese arcades by Taito in 1989 and later ported to the SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis) in Japan, this is the first time that Master of Weapon is seeing an official home release in the West.
Set in a post-apocalyptic Earth following a seven-day nuclear holocaust, Master of Weapon puts players in the role of Yukiwo, the young protagonist who must defeat the out-of-control supercomputer ‘N’ to protect the remnants of humanity. You must master a variety of weapons (urrr!) to destroy hordes of disgusting atomic mutants and N’s advanced technology.
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.
Arcade Archives Master of Weapon is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
You can check out the trailer below, or visit the official Hamster website here for additional info. If you do watch the trailer, turn the volume down a little; the sound is a bit harsh.
