Fried Comics’ Lovecraftian “DREAMQUEST 2” Now On Kickstarter
Fried Comics recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for DREAMQUEST 2, the second installment of a three-issue miniseries.
Written by Clay Adams (Red Xmas) and featuring illustrations by Mick Beyers (A Queen of Mars) and colors by Alex Zief (Monster Matador), DREAMQUEST is a sci-fi horror miniseries that “expands on (HP) Lovecraft’s Dream Cycle.”
Here’s the official pitch taken from the DREAMQUEST 2 Kickstarter campaign page:
DREAMQUEST 2: The Crawling Chaos is a 48-page sequel set in the universe of H.P. Lovecraft’s Dream Cycle.
What is The Dream Cycle?
Between 1918 and 1932, HP Lovecraft wrote a series of stories set in the “Dreamlands.” Like most of his work, it’s now in the public domain and has inspired everything from The Sandman to Nightmare on Elm Street.
Several of the stories focus on the character of Randolph Carter, who’s loosely based on Lovecraft himself. At the end of the Dream Cycle, Randolph has disappeared into the Dreamlands and is desperately trying to return home.Do you need to know anything about The Dream Cycle to enjoy DREAMQUEST?
Nope! We made it easy for you to catch up and jump on board, so never fear. Our story in volume 1 starts with a brand new character of our own invention, Margo Carter, as she is contacted by Randolph in her dreams.

Backers can get a digital version of DREAMQUEST 2 for $8, while physical copies start at $18. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:
- Multiple copies of the book
- Variant covers (including a special black and white cover edition)
- Sketch covers
- A copy of the script (either digital PDF or physical)
- A digital 12-page short The Music of Erich Zann
- Original artwork
- Copies of DREAMQUEST issue 1 and other previous Fried Comics releases
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $6 for those in the United States.
