In April the crowdfunding campaign for Reaper Book 1: The Cursed Castle, a 100+ page, black and white graphic novel came to an end, successfully raising more than $5 thousand from 128 backers.

Written and illustrated by Trisha Cuffari (aka Dannphan), Reaper is a dark fantasy series presented in a manga-style 5″ x 7.5″ format.

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Reaper Book 1: The Cursed Castle Indiegogo campaign page:

War has ended, yet the fires of grudges still burn.

One Lord sought to damn his King and lead Kreuzland to victory. The bitter Lord Hohenzecht took it upon himself to craft iron with blood. At his hands, souls burned in the forge and his diabolism brought into this realm a sword with the power to make himself King. He vowed their enemies in Valthorne would be cursed to the ever collapsing abyss under his hand. But alas, he fell, pierced by the very blade he crafted. Now the lands he once governed are left Lordless and vulnerable. Desperate men turn to a life of violence, consuming souls for power and control. These men are called… Reapers.

Ichabod always dreamed of being a knight, but all it could ever be was a dream. After his hero Sir Sidharth was defeated by the cursed Lord, his hometown was left open for attack. He came face to face with his weakness, and fled.

Now he has a new life, capturing souls for buyers. And he’s finally been offered a job that he could retire on… Capture the soul of the undead Lord.
