Retro Arcade Classic “Crime City” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch

“More hateful still the miscreant who seeks, when caught, to make a virtue of a crime.”Sophocles

Publisher Hamster has announced that 2D action game Crime City is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1989, this is the first time that Crime City is seeing an official home release.

In Crime City, one or two players must clean up the streets that have been overrun by gangs, evil organizations and other vicious criminal elements who are stealing, smuggling, kidnapping, and drug dealing (it was the 80s, after all). Plain clothes officers Tony Gibson and Raymond Brody use their street smarts and their trusty sidearms to track down the crime lords of Chicago Crime City. They can also hide behind stage objects and receive power-ups whenever they take down the criminal thugs, and by “take down”, I mean lawfully arrest, of course.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Crime City is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
