Retro Arcade Volleyball Game “Power Spikes” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch
No sand. No bikinis. Just dudes.
Publisher Hamster has announced that Power Spikes is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in arcades by Video Systems in 1991, this is the first time that Power Spikes (aka Super Volley ‘91) is seeing an official release on home consoles.
Power Spikes is the sequel of sorts to Super Volleyball, complete with nine international teams to choose from and a control scheme that is easy to pick up. Based on indoor volleyball rules (rather than beach volleyball), each team consists of four players, and two players can compete against each other. The techniques available to you include timed attacks and feints, as well as new serve styles.
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.
Arcade Archives Power Spikes is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
