Unleash Your Inner Beast with Konami’s “Metamorphic Force”
Before Bloody Roar, before Animorphs, but not before Altered Beast, there was Metamorphic Force!
Publisher Hamster has announced that Metamorphic Force is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in Japanese arcades by Konami in 1993, this is the first time that Metamorphic Force is seeing an official release in the West.
The ancient evil king has returned, and now the heirs to the goddess must unleash the divine beasts within to end his evil reign once and for all.
Players take control of one of four heroes, each of whom can summon their guardian soul and transform into beastly brawlers. Choose from a Japanese Judo master (bull), a French swordsman (wolf), a Russian hunter (bear) and an American boxer (panther). The gameplay should be familiar to those with experience playing retro arcade brawlers, but game’s “hook” is obviously the ability to go into beast mode once enough powerups are collected.
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.
Arcade Archives Metamorphic Force is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
