Classic Arcade Boxing Game “Final Blow” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch

Get your head out of the gutter, ya’ dink!

In an example of remarkably good timing following Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight last week, publisher Hamster has announced that Final Blow is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1989 and later ported to the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, FM Towns and the SEGA Genesis (the latter as James “Buster” Douglas Boxing in the US), this is the first time that an arcade-perfect port of Final Blow is getting an official release on home consoles.

In Final Blow, players choose one of five boxers and compete to become the undisputed world champion. You have weak, medium, and strong punches at your disposal, and you can also switch between a jab! and body blow! (wrong game) low and high punch depending on where your opponent is giving you the biggest opening.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Final Blow is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
