Comic book artist Brent Peeples and his wife Brittany have launched a crowdfunding campaign for Found One, a line of “luxury Christian streetwear.”

The project is already fully funded, having raised roughly $2 thousand at the time of this writing.

Taking inspiration from the Biblical parable of the shepherd who leaves his 99 sheep to find 1 who is lost (*spoilers: that’s Jesus, yo), Found One is intended to be an an avenue for witness without being too heavy-handed. While Peeples has been using the brand for about a year to create print-on-demand and heat-pressed products, this Kickstarter campaign is intended to bring the Found One brand to a higher level of quality.

In addition to other graphic design work, Peeples has over a decade of experience illustrating comics, including Venom, Titans, and Grimm Fairy Tales.

Two years ago, God made a major change in our lives and drew us back to Him. We had run quite far from him, but he never stopped searching for us. He redeemed our lives, our relationship with each other and our family.

Shortly thereafter, I wanted to start wearing faith based clothing for the first time in my life. There was only one problem. I couldn’t find anything that I liked. I mean really liked. Either the design was cool but the shirt was cheap. Or the design was too cheesy. Or the shirt was good quality and the design was cool, but the fit was just all wrong. See I have always been a fan of more premium streetwear brands, but i couldn’t find anything on the market that fit my style. I like brands like Allsaints and Represent and Fear of God and so on and so on. Though other brands were close, they just weren’t it. So that’s when i decided to make my own. I have worked in the illustration and design world for years for companies like Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Samsung etc. So I figured I would put my abilities and love for fashion towards this.

Fast forward two years, Found One has just celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary and boy have we learned a lot. We have gone from print on demand, to heat pressing our own shirts, to upgrading quality and using screen printers for our most recent collection.

The next step however is the biggest. See we are wanting to really elevate our brand and the quality and creativity of our clothes to a level we just can’t do ourselves or by using local printers and pre-made blanks. Even though we produce the best quality possible in that space, we are still limited. This is where this kickstarter comes in. This will allow us to move to fully manufacturing our clothes from pattern to print to completion. Our designs, our measurements, the colors we want, the best quality we can possibly deliver. We want to change the landscape of what Christian streetwear can be and move the needle in a positive direction.

We have a deep drive to reach people for Jesus through fashion, and feel there is a gap in the faith based market. The gap is the limited amount of high quality, well fitting, well designed fashion pieces that will not only grab the attention of believers but non believers. The ones that are how we used to be and give and eye roll to your “typical” Christian shirt before the conversation about Jesus is even started. We want non believers to see our apparel and be intrigued enough to ask where you got it or what the design means, in hopes that a seed, big or small, is planted.

God willing this campaign will fund and we will be able to produce this collection, and not only provide you with high quality pieces, but also provide you with something that draws the attention and conversation of those around you so that you may let them know who Jesus is and what he means to you.

While there are plans for other options down the road (hoodies, etc.), backers can choose from multiple t-shirt designs starting at $65. It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $10 for those in the United States.
