Harambe’s revenge! “Ape Out” releasing in February for Switch, PC; new trailer revealed

The gloriously violent Ape Out is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC on 7 February. A representative for publisher Devolver Digital has released the following statement (under the false moniker of “CFO” Fork Parker):
“Our team is pleased to finally announce a release date for one of our most anticipated titles ever in Ape Out. Frankly, it was a lot harder to motion capture an ape than we had originally thought and recording primates ripping human corpses apart is generally frowned upon in most countries.”
Developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, Ape Out is described as “a wildly intense and colourfully stylised smash ‘em up about primal escape, rhythmic violence, and frenetic jazz.” Give the new gameplay trailer below a look to see if that description hits the mark.
The environments in Ape Out are procedurally generated and with so many ways to maul & maim your human enemies, the potential for replayability appears high. Oh, there’s also Homo sapien blood by the barrel to be spilled. Harambe would be proud.
Ape Out is scheduled for release on 7 February 2019 for Nintendo Switch and PC.
