Ziggurat Interactive Acquires “BloodRayne”, other IPs from Majesco

Game publisher Ziggurat Interactive has announced that they have acquired the rights to several licenses previously held by Majesco Entertainment, including Advent Rising, Raze’s Hell, Flip’s Twisted World, and BloodRayne.
Ziggurat intends to update these games on PC platforms, and have expressed interest in developing the series in the future. Specifically, Ziggurat revealed that they are working with the original BloodRayne developer Terminal Reality to enhance the PC versions of the games and improve compatibility, as well as “developing plans to further explore and expand BloodRayne’s already rich universe.”
For those unfamiliar with BloodRayne, the games follow a sexy half-vampire named Rayne who slashes monsters and Nazis in pre-World War II Europe. The series debuted in 2002 on PS2, GameCube and Xbox and there would be a direct sequel in 2004 and a side-scrolling spinoff in 2011 titled BloodRayne: Betrayal.
Outside of games, the BloodRayne franchise was also adapted to comic books, an ill-received movie series by director Uwe Boll, and the Rayne character herself famously appeared in the pages of Playboy Magazine in October 2004.
