Atari Revives “Food Fight” for a 2022 Release

The office full of IP lawyers who are currently wearing the skin suit once known as Atari (allegedly)* recently announced that a new version of Food Fight is in the works, thanks to a collaboration with developers at Mega Cat Studios.

Arriving in early 2022, new Food Fight will launch first as a timed exclusive for the Atari VCS PC/console hybrid (LOL), and then pretty much everyone else will get to play it on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, SeXbox, and Nintendo Switch at a later date.

Based on the 1983 original arcade game, Food Fight pits a young boy named Charley Chuck against a group of ill-tempered chefs. Armed with multiple food projectiles (and condiments, of course), players must take these culinary cretins down!

The Food Fight revival will feature 3D graphics, new characters, updated gameplay mechanics and online multiplayer support.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the new Food Fight from the office of IP lawyers who currently hold the Atari brand (allegedly):

Food Fight unleashes all manner of food-based frenzy upon players looking to take control of the food court! Featuring single-player, co-op, and online multiplayer modes, the reimagined new game offers a plethora of potential gameplay scenarios, further supported by procedurally generated environments to ensure the food fighting fun never goes stale.

Players can collect and choose from over 30 individual weapons, items, and special pick-ups, each with their own kitchen characteristics, such as “slippery” or “sticky.”
