Did Vikings have a word for leopard?

Independent comic creator Edwin Ascevedo launched a crowdfunding campaign for Raid of the White Leopard, a 16-page comic book featuring black and white artwork and two separate, but interconnected stories.

The project is already fully funded, having raised more that $16 hundred at the time of this writing.

Written by Edwin Acevedo (The Ace vol. 1) with art by Avery Butterworth (The Lost Pages), Raid of the White Leopard is a historical fantasy book that follows a shipwrecked band of Vikings and their battle to survive on a deadly island.

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Raid of the White Leopard Fund My Comic campaign page:

RAID OF THE WHITE LEOPARD BOOK 1–
Is a 20 page black and white comic book (16 pages of story plus bonus material) about a band of Vikings who get caught in a storm and wash up on a mysterious island.

It features 2 interconnected stories, the first is about Viking raiders that get caught up in a storm that destroys their ship. The remaining survivors then end up making it to the shores of a mysterious island.

The second story introduces The White Leopard and shows some of the history of the island aswell as its inhabitants.

Backers can get a digital version of Raid of the White Leopard for $12, while physical copies start at $15. If you have more cash to spend or want to go in with a buddy and save a couple of bucks, you can also pick up two copies the book at a discounted rate.

It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $5 for those in the United States.
