Over the weekend, Mike Baron launched a crowdfunding campaign for Bronze Star, a 48-page “weird western” graphic novel.

The project is already a rootin’, tootin’ success (kill me), having raised more than $17 thousand between all crowdfunding platforms at the time of this writing.

Written and created by Mike Baron and featuring illustrations by by Pat Broderick, Bronze Star is described as “H.P. Lovecraft meets Sergio Leone.”

Bronze Star is a suspenseful, weird western tale that explores redemption and revenge, offering a fresh take on the werewolf mythos while delivering heart-pounding scares, glorious artwork, and unexpected twists that will grab readers by the throat and not let go until the final page.

Created by Eisner winning writer Mike Baron (Nexus, Punisher, Star Wars), and beautifully illustrated by Pat Broderick (Micronauts, Alpha Flight, Legion of Super-Heroes), Bronze Star tells a frightening tale of a civil war vet who kills a powerful land owner’s spoiled son after catching him cheating in a poker game. An angry posse soon forces him to flee to a remote mining town where he discovers that the town’s sheriff is afflicted with lycanthropy, but this sheriff isn’t the only supernatural danger lurking in this mining town…

A two-fisted tale featuring Lovecraftian creatures, blazing guns, and spurting blood!

Backers can get a digital version of Bronze Star for $10, while physical copies start at $25. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:

It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $7 for those in the United States.
