“Once… twice… three times a Melvin…”

Velvet Comics recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for the third issue of Melvin, a 27-page sci-fi adventure.

Written by Timothy Olsen and featuring illustrations by art by Sid Teles and inks by Rick Piper, Melvin issue three promises “an adrenaline-pumping journey as Melvin and Alice must evade bounty hunters on their way back to the hidden city.”

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Melvin Fund My Comic campaign page:

Will Melvin and Alice manage to reach the safety of the hidden city of Trygg, or will they fall into the hands of two relentless bounty hunters? Melvin is faced with a tough choice, whether to pursue wealth or to embrace his destiny as a hero.

Meanwhile, Alice must face the consequences of her own choices as she embarks on a journey to fight for what she believes in.

Backers can get a digital version of Melvin issue 3 for $5, while physical copies start at $10. If you have more money to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:

• A “zero issue” origin book
• Water bottle
• Spiral notebook
• A sticker
• A button
• Copies of the previous Melvin books if you want to catch up

It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $8 for those in the United States.
