Allumer’s “War of Aero” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch via the Arcade Archives

No acrobats were harmed in the making of this war.

Publisher Hamster has announced that War of Aero is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in Japanese arcades by Allumer in 1993 under the title War of Aero: Project MEIOU, this is the first time that War of Aero has received a home release and the first time the game has been available outside of Japan in any format.

War of Aero is a vertical sci-fi shooter where one or two players take flight in aircraft that can be fitted with options upgrade pods on either side. These pods can be positioned to fire either up or down, and if two players stack their aircraft on top of each other, they merge like a mini Voltron to create a more powerful attack.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives War of Aero is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
