Classic 80s Arcade Game “Mouser” Now on PS4, Nintendo Switch

Where a cat is actually the hero against an infestation of mice.

Publisher Hamster has announced that Mouser is now available on Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in Japanese arcades by UPL in 1983 and later ported to the MSX, this is the first time that Mouser is seeing an official release outside of Japan.

In Mouser, players take control of the tomcat Nyanta who must overcome a gang of mice to rescue his fiancée Mariya (All good kitties save themselves for marriage). To do so, Nyanta will have to ascend a series of platforms in each stage (similar to Donkey Kong), capturing a certain number of mice along the way. Of course, those vicious vermin will try to impede your progress using traps and lobbing flower pots and bombs at you, but you can also collect the occasional power-ups which appear in the form of fish.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Mouser is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
