Psychological Horror Game “Things Too Ugly” Coming To PC, Consoles In 2024

I can think of a few things…

Publisher Baltoro Games recently announced that first-person horror game Things Too Ugly will be coming to PC and consoles sometime in the second half of 2024.

Developed by Professor Space Games, Things Too Ugly is described as an “interactive psychological horror game” that “combines elements of puzzle-solving, investigative work, and narrative exploration.” The story is set in 1986 near the Mississippi River, so there appears to be plenty of fun retro tech to interact for those of us who are nostalgic for the 80s (or for you young’uns who have an antiquarian longing for the era).

Here’s a quick breakdown of Things Too Ugly from Baltoro, followed by the latest trailer:

In your antiquated workspace, you navigate instruments and sift through documents illuminated by the incandescent bulb of a desk lamp and the moonlight. Static crackles through tunes playing on a portable radio as you parse data. Unusual diagrams and photographs draw you in as you cull eerie details from archived files. Urgency mounts in the small hours. Your supervisor, looming via intercom, leads you through a long-buried episode from the company’s past.

Equipped with GPS, encoder device, and more, can you reckon with what lays bare on your desk; will you set right a decades-old wrong?

Things Too Ugly is currently scheduled to release sometime in the second half of 2024 on Steam PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
