On Wednesday, Vera Via Studios launched a crowdfunding campaign for Star Circuit Chapter 2: Synchronicity, a 72-page sci-fi comic book.

Written and illustrated by Joe Catapano and featuring colors by Marcos Martins, Star Circuit 2 is a cyberpunk-style story inspired by Akira, F-Zero, and Outlaw Star.

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Star Circuit 2 Indiegogo campaign page:

Ever since his family was ripped apart by the very tech that sustains society, Atlys Metric has been running from any semblance of a normal life, chasing what most would call a delusion: Racing to win in the championship, Android dominated, premier league, the STAR CIRCUIT.

In Colony A.2.1., a vast network connects the minds of each member of the populous, delivering everlasting entertainment and an augmentally custom-made experience directly into the retinas for each individual , free of charge.

They call it the ARC.

Synchronicity begins as Atlys’s life gets kicked into high gear when he wakes up with a unique ARC glitch that has inadvertently marked him as a target by relentless android assassins.
