Nara Kilday lives.

Dead at 17 creator Josh Howard recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Dead at 17: Revival #2, a 45-page horror comic continuing the revivified cult series.

The project is already fully funded, having raised more than $10k from over 160 backers at the time of this writing, well past its $5k initial funding goal.

Written and illustrated by Howard, Dead at 17: Revival #2 brings back Nara Kilday and Hazy Foss for the next chapter of the series that began in the early 2000s at Image Comics, where a teenage girl killed in a car accident returned from the dead to battle the supernatural forces threatening her town. This second issue follows last year’s successful Revival #1 campaign, which brought the series back after a multi-year hiatus.

DEAD AT 17 follows the story of Nara Kilday, a girl abducted by a cult at age 17 to serve as a sacrifice for evil. But death was not the end for Nara. After passing through the netherworld of the Veil, Nara crawled out of the grave as something more than human. Possessing a unique bloodline that evil seeks to control, Nara has spent the last 20 years on the run, confronting darkness wherever it lurks.

IN THIS ISSUE

After the events of Issue #1, Nara has finally returned home. Together, she and best friend Agent Hazy Foss continue their search for Violetand the answers to Nara’s past. Meanwhile, deep within the woods surrounding Darlington Hills, ancient inhuman remains have been unearthed, awakening the demon trapped in the pages of Nara’s journal.

Backers can get a digital copy of Dead at 17: Revival #2 for $10, while physical copies start at $20 with your choice of cover. If you have more money to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:
