Jake Berenthal has already made the worst choices a man can make, and now he has to live long enough to make one better. Jawbone Death returns via Kickstarter, bringing back Adam Lawson and Jason Crager’s burned-out biker-turned-avatar of an ancient warrior for a 38-page, black-and-white second issue.

For Jawbone Death newcomers: Berenthal is an enforcer for the Red Animal biker gang who hears a voice warning him that he is destined for an eternity in Hell. Instead of torturing a snitch as ordered, he turns on his gang boss, and ends up being hunted down, critically wounded, and his blood seeps into the grave of an ancient Leviathan Warrior. That warrior needs a human avatar to stop the Myth Slayer, an ancient evil freed from a thousand-year prison intent on consuming all faith, hope, and belief and enslaving the world. Berenthal takes up the warrior’s helm and weapon, the jawbone of the biblical monster Leviathan itself, and becomes Jawbone Death: a former criminal given a chance to change his destiny, fix his past, and repair the damage he suffered by his ex-wife. Jawbone Death is a story of grit, regret, anger, and overwhelming violence, and it looks to be right up the alley for fans of Heavy Metal, Lobo, Ghost Rider, and other dark action comic series.

The Jawbone Death issue 2 campaign has already blown past its initial funding goal, having raised nearly $10 thousand at the time of this writing. According to Lawson, the book is fully complete, already with the printer, and will be printed in gol’ dern ‘Murrica.
