SNK Arcade Classic Prehistoric Isle on Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S

Publisher Hamster has announced that the 1989 SNK shoot-โ€™em-up Prehistoric Isle is now available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and SeXbox as part of the digital Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 series.

Originally released in arcades by SNK in 1989, Prehistoric Isle sends you to Greenhell Island to investigate a series of mysterious shipwrecks off the coast of the Bahamas, where “prehistoric dragons” thought long extinct are lying in wait, ready to jump out and yell “Surprise!”, and then eat you, of course. Your aircraft carries an option unit that can be repositioned to change its attack into five different fire types depending on its location, from flame lasers fired upward to bombs dropped diagonally downward. Master the option unit and you might just uncover the truth behind the shipwrecks (hint: itโ€™s dinosaurs).

Like other Arcade Archives titles, Prehistoric Isle includes the standard offering of modern features: Hi-Score Mode, Caravan Mode, save states, screen filters, and customizable controls. The Arcade Archives 2 versions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S add a brand-new Time Attack Mode on top of the Original, Hi-Score, and Caravan modes, so thatโ€™s where your extra two bucks are going.

Arcade Archives Prehistoric Isle is available now for $7.99 on Switch and PS4, while Arcade Archives 2 Prehistoric Isle runs $9.99 on PS5 and SeXbox. You can check out the release trailer below, or visit the official Hamster website here for additional info.
