AMNX: Patriotic Commandos Figures Storm Past Their Kickstarter Funding Goal
The campaign for American Ninja X (AMNX): Patriotic Commandos, a 6-inch action figure line from Riot Press and creator Patrick Thomas Parnell, recently crossed its $55,000 funding goal on Kickstarter, which means the plastic soldiers are officially marching toward production. Parnell (Johnny Phantasm, Last of the Seekers) created the line with toy designer David Vonner and Vonner Studios, sculptor Luke Wakeford, and engineer Shoulong Tian.
For those who missed the mission brief: AMNX follows an elite special operations team led by American Ninja X and U.S. Assassin, taking the fight to Lord Dragon and his ever-growing N1N-Droid Army, with side trips through interdimensional portals and alternate universes when regular warfare gets too boring, as it does. It’s G.I. Joe energy filtered through 80s and 90s Saturday morning sci-fi cartoons.
The campaign includes a full lineup of characters: heroes, villains, and of course, variants:
- American Ninja X (plus 2 variants)
- U.S. Assassin (plus 2 variants)
- AMNX’s HotRod
- The British Bulldog, Davey “Boy” Smith (plus variant)
- Angryfoot (created by Black Eyed Peas musician Taboo Nawasha)
- The N1N-Droid Oni Leader
- N1N-Droids (multiple variants for maximum army-building)
Individual figures start at $39, with larger bundles running up to $275. There is also a 24-page American Ninja X companion comic book priced at $5 written by U.S. Assassin creator Mark Poulton (Koni Waves, The Savage Hawkman) with interior art by Parnell and featuring a cover by Transformers artist Don Figueroa. Shipping gets billed separately closer to fulfillment through BackerKit, and delivery is estimated for sometime before October 2027.
