Missile Command, but in reverse. Sort of.
The debut game from solo developer Michaël Jacquet, Strikemania puts players in control of a warhead in a fast-paced, retro-inspired time-attack (hyphenation overload!) game reminiscent of the 2D arcade games of the late 70s and early 80s.
The Strikemania gameplay is designed to be simple yet addictive. Blast through obstacle-filled routes, squeezing through tight gaps and smashing enemy defenses, and reach your target before time runs out. Restarts are instant, making the perfect run feel always just one more try away. On some stages you can even rewind time and launch extra missiles alongside your earlier ones, coordinating a entire explosive volley to overwhelm enemy defenses. Your best plays can be reflected on global leaderboards, and you can also create your own missile gauntlets with a built-in level editor.
Strikemania will be the first title published by Belgian company AlterEyes, and the game is scheduled to release in Q1 2027 for Steam PC. If you’re incredibly eager to get your launch on, you can register now for the playtesting period which starts later this month (namely, November), and a public demo is planned for Steam Next Fest in February 2027.
