Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove to release in 2018, loses Adult Swim as publisher

According to the latest backer update from HumaNature Studios, Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove will be released before the end of 2018.*
The Nintendo Switch version of Back in the Groove is almost ready to submit for certification while the other console versions are reportedly close behind.
The backer update also announced that a closed beta will launch in the next few weeks for backers who supported early-access tiers.
On a perhaps sadder note, Adult Swim Games is no longer publishing TJ&E. Instead the game will be self-published by HumaNature themselves. According to the backer update, Back in the Groove’s development delays were interfering with Adult Swim Games’ planned release schedule, and both parties agreed to amicably part ways.
Project lead and Toejam & Earl creator Greg Johnson closed out the backer update by reassuring backers that the HumaNature team is up to the task of self-publishing.
So not too much longer now, right?
