New Indiegogo campaign for “The Cry” addresses child abuse in a haunting supernatural comic

This week, a crowdfunding campaign for a new independent comic The Cry launched on Indiegogo.

The Cry is a 24-page comic book written by J.S. Earls (Meg) and features artwork by Pablo Ayala (Robocop). The book is a very personal passion project for the creator (Earls), who drew inspiration from real-life child abuse tragedies to craft a supernatural tale of suspense.

You can watch Earls’ promotional video for The Cry below.

Backers can get a digital copy of The Cry for $10, while physical copies start at $40. Those looking to spend more can get a deluxe edition of the book, which features the original script and several pages of sketches and other artwork.

Earls intends to donate a portion of the proceeds from The Cry to the National Organization to Protect Children, a non-profit organization whose programs focus on protecting children from abuse. If you would like to learn more about the NAPC, visit Protect.org.
