Indie horror comic “Something Real” is back on Indiegogo

On Thursday, the crowdfunding campaign for the latest issue of Something Real launched on Indiegogo. Not only can you pick up the upcoming third issue, but there are also options to get earlier issues if you need to catch up.
But, hold on! What’s Something Real, you ask? Taking inspiration from supernatural horror classics such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Something Real is a tale of terror in comic book form written by Joey Turnage and featuring illustrations by Ian J. Miller and colors by Fredrik Mattsson. (We actually had the chance to interview Joey Turnage a few months back, which you can read here)
Here’s a plot summary taken from the Indiegogo campaign page.
A small town family is being haunted. The monster from underneath your bed wants their kid. Its mission is simple: craft a new world from the imaginations of brilliantly gifted children. The kid in question, a young boy named Phillip Hasten, is the ultimate example of an extraordinary young mind. Phillip’s untested mental capabilities have made him the boogeyman’s prime target since conception…
The events that follow will change the Hasten family forever. Will they end the boogeyman’s reign and finally break the curse — or will it’s hunger for power result in our ultimate demise?
At the time of this writing, backers can get a digital version of the third issue for $4, while physical copies start at $10. Options to pick up earlier issues are also available, including a wallet-friendly $15 tier for all three issues printed on newsprint. If you’re looking for more premium perks, there are also options that include bookmarks, original artwork, and even the chance to have your likeness drawn into the book.
Interested? Terrified, but you can’t look away? You can check out some sample artwork below or visit the full Something Real Indiegogo page here.
