Chuck Dixon and It’s Alive! bring “Airboy” back after a 30-year absence

Over the weekend, It’s Alive! launched a crowdfunding campaign for issue number 51 of Airboy, an aviation-themed hero whose origins date back to the Golden Age of comics.
Wait? Issue 51? Yes, indeedy. Writer Chuck Dixon wrote a 50-issue run in the 1980s which updated the Airboy character for contemporary audiences. This Indiegogo campaign will fund issue number 51, which picks up immediately after issue 50 left off. Dixon returns in the Airboy writer’s chair with illustrations by Brent McKee and colors by Jok.
Here’s a breakdown of Airboy taken from the Indiegogo campaign page.
Backers can get a digital version of Airboy #51 for $8, while physical copies start at $10. In addition to options for variant covers, there are several backing tiers that come with extra perks, including multiple copies of the book, signed copies, original artwork, and even the chance to have your likeness drawn into the final product.
