Last month, self-proclaimed Yakuza addict Mina Majima embarked on the trip of a lifetime, vacationing in Japan and visiting several locales featured in SEGA’s Yakuza video game series. Fortunately, Mina did not come across any “goons”. Perhaps they’ve already been dispatched?

Kind of makes you want to dash over that Sotenbori bridge screaming “Ora, ORA!”, right?

While seeing these striking side-by-side images not only makes me jealous, it also stands as a testament to the Yakuza development team’s ability to faithfully recreate these real-life locations and convey a convincing sense of place for the player.
