AlternaWeen 2019 is now live!
On Tuesday, Alterna Comics founder Peter Simeti launched the company’s second Halloween-themed fundraising campaign, AlternaWeen. The intended purpose of the campaign is to raise money for Alterna Comics to maintain and expand its distribution channels. The more money raised, the more product Alterna will be able to send to these new retailers.
Backers who support the Alternaween campaign will be sent bundles of Alterna Comics to be given away as Halloween treats. The comics themselves come in two types of bundles: an “all-ages” bundle made up of exclusively “all ages” books, and a mixed bundle which has includes books rated all-ages, young adult and mature. You can choose from bundles of 25, 50, 100 or 200 books, depending on the number of trick-or-treaters you expect.
Want some extra swag to go with all of those books? You can also pick up an Alterna hat, t-shirt, tote bag, posters, mini-calendars, and even packs of silly putty. Of course, there’s also a $150 option to pick up a bit of everything, too.
There looks to be plenty of stretch goals if the campaign exceeds its $5 thousand goal, including new t-shirt and hat designs.
Not sure if you’ll have enough trick-or-treaters to warrant a bulk purchase? You can always donate the books to libraries, children’s hospitals, or even drop a few in those “neighborhood library” stands which seem to be popping up everywhere.
