Leak! Remastered collection of Disney’s “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” for Switch, PS4 & Xbox One

It looks like there is yet another HD remaster collection in our future, this time including both Disney’s Aladdin and The Lion King originally released in 1993 and 1994 respectively. It should be noted that these will be based on the games developed by Virgin Interactive, so fans of Capcom’s take on Aladdin for the Super Nintendo will have to settle for the superior Sega Genesis version.

Both Aladdin and The Lion King are reportedly playable in original and 1080p resolutions, and will include the original soundtracks. Other new features include fast-forward and rewind functions, as well as the ability to have the game “auto-play” (think Donkey Kong Country Returns) which shows players how to complete the stage. (We call this last one “gaming journalist mode”)

This leak reportedly stems from GameStop’s 2019 GME Conference, where the above image was taken. Pre-orders are expected to open 28 August for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with the release scheduled for later this fall. There is no confirmation of a PC version at this point, but it’s likely.

Perhaps this Aladdin and The Lion King remastered collection will help erase the memories of those awful “live-action” remakes, eh?
