“Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout” has most successful launch in series history
Publisher Koei Tecmo has announced that Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout sold approximately 150,000 copies in the first week after its Japanese release, making it the most successful launch in the history of the Atelier franchise. For comparison, other Atelier titles typically sell approximately 50,000 copies in their first week.

The game is reportedly sold out in many stores, and lifetime sales projections indicate that Atelier Ryza could reach half a million units sold. Those are indeed some thicc, girthy sales for a niche title, particularly one over which there was so much controversy surrounding its conventionally attractive character designs. (Perhaps Ryza is in fact pronounced “Reeeeeeeza?”)
Koei Tecmo added that the game has also seen particularly strong pre-order numbers in Western countries, stronger than any other Atelier title before it.
Congratulations to Koei Tecmo on a successful launch. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout launches for the Nintendo Switch in North America on 29 October.
