“Fatal Frame” producer shows interest in bringing the horror series to Nintendo Switch
The Fatal Frame franchise has been dormant since 2015, when Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was released on the Nintendo Wii U. In a statement made to Nintendo Everything, series producer Keisuke Kikuchi expressed interest in returning to the horrors of the Fatal Frame world on the Nintendo Switch.
“Yeah, I do want to make a Fatal Frame on Switch,” Kikuchi said. “I think it’d be a ton of fun to play with the console in handheld mode and moving all around.”
The first Fatal Frame game was released for the PS2 in 2001 (in Japan), and this is the longest stretch of time without a new game in the history of the franchise. Kikuchi is currently working on the upcoming Fairy Tail RPG, so a return to the Fatal Frame franchise wouldn’t be happening very soon.
Is the Nintendo Switch the perfect platform for the return of Fatal Frame? Let us know in the comments!
