New “Guilty Gear 2020” trailer confirms new characters; may be less hardcore than previous games
Arc System Works announced back at EVO 2019 that a new installment of their one-on-one fighting franchise Guilty Gear is indeed coming our way in 2020 via the tentatively titled Guilty Gear 2020.
Arc System Works has now released the fifth trailer for Guilty Gear 2020, which confirms that both Chipp Zanuff and Potemkin will be playable characters in the game. Arc System Works also debuted a substantial gameplay video which was shown at the Arc-Nama livestream.
You can watch both the new character reveal trailer and the gameplay livestream for yourself below.
According to an analysis by Kyle Payne for Exclusively Games, this new entry in the Guilty Gear franchise is aiming at a slightly more casual crowd, as light attacks do more damage and attack combos are generally shorter than in previous Guilty Gear games.
At the time of this writing, Guilty Gear 2020 is only confirmed for PS4, and a closed online beta test is planned for spring 2020. Those hoping to try the game out can get their chance at the ArcRevo World Tour Final 2019 from 16-17 November in Irvine, California.
