Comic artist Ed Benes brings the lovely ladies of “Nina & Ariel” to Indiegogo

Last week, veteran comic book creator Ed Benes launched a crowdfunding campaign for Nina & Ariel #1, a 40-page graphic novel featuring a pair of stunningly beautiful heroines. Described as a sci-fi post-apocalyptic tale, Nina & Ariel is writer/artist Benes’ first creator-owned project. He is joined by colorist Dinei Ribeiro and letterer Jorge Vieira in bringing these lovely ladies to life.

Here’s the plot summary taken from the Nina & Ariel Indiegogo campaign page:

The negligence of mans with the natural resources offered by the planet had serious consequences for the future. A world war for territories that still had resources was established; while the war was being fought between the soldiers the scientists found out an escape route thus emerging the NEW EDEN. It’s become a hope for humanity the New Eden was real for all those who were of really importance to the continuation of the species or had enough possessions to pay for this new world, leaving behind the scum of humanity and living on a destroyed planet by war and almost without resources for survival.

In this first edition our heroines are presented and we’ill follow the exact moment they meet each other and start their adventures  in this chaotic scenario where we can feel the climate of violence and tension.

Backers can get a digital version of Nina & Ariel for $5, while physical copies start at $25. Those with more cash to throw around can get extra copies of the book, signed copies, variant covers editions, original artwork, deluxe versions of the book with extra content, and even sketch cards featuring partially or fully nude (!) images of the lovely heroines, Nina & Ariel.
