“Wolverton” creator Michael Stark asking for help to beat Lyme Disease
Last week, independent comic book writer and Wolverton: Thief of Impossible Objects creator Michael Stark announced that he was steeped in a renewed battle against Lyme Disease. Stark has suffered with Lyme off and on for 25 years, but describes his most recent bout with the disease is described as the worst he’s ever experienced. To make matters worse, Stark has also developed allergic reactions to many rudimentary treatments, and he does not have sufficient financial resources to undertake more unconventional therapies.
That’s where you can help. Stark has launched a GoFundMe page to help him raise the money necessary to pay for a promising, but expensive treatment. Stark estimates that the full round of treatment will cost between five to eight thousand dollars out-of-pocket, so he is asking for help to raise $6,500.
So far, Stark’s friends, family and fans have responded by helping him raise over $5,900 at the time of this writing. If you’d like to support Stark’s GoFundMe, you can do so here. If you’d like to help out but get a little something back in return, Stark has noted that purchasing items from the Wolverton store (here) will also help him out.
We at The Splintering wish Mr. Stark a speedy and successful recovery.
